The Illinois Finance Authority (IFA), in its capacity as the Illinois Climate Bank (ICB), is pleased to release a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Round 3 of its Stretch Building Code Adoption Grant Program. Funding is intended to support individual municipalities in adopting and implementing the 2023 Illinois Stretch Energy Code, up to $200,000 per award.
Communities may pursue either full adoption of the Illinois Stretch Energy Code or an incremental approach to updating base codes, laying the groundwork for future adoption. Funding may be used for staff training, community engagement and education, technical assistance, internal planning, permitting process updates, and tracking emissions impacts.
